At OneLife Initiative, we see the new media as a weapon of mass discussion. People, Information, New Media and Governance (PING) is a hub for participatory discussions on policy issues and governance processes. This project fundamentally enables us at OneLife to moderate an e-roundtable between stakeholders in government and the public. This also gives young people and other interested stakeholders a voice and detailed understanding of governance. The highlight and report of such meetings would be made available on our blog and also available for download on our site.
Our use of social media is unique at OneLife. Monthly, as major issues in the polity unfold, we design infographs that capture data around such issues and share online. This is in addition to our use of different art forms—creative writing, stage performances, poetry, essay—to engage with issues. Issuegraphs are our approach to simplifying the complex issues of governance.
