Sometimes, there’s nothing as rewarding as conne Sometimes, there’s nothing as rewarding as connecting with tomorrow’s leaders!

This month, our School Connect intervention filled the school walls of Ansar-ud-Deen High School, Ikole Ekiti; a historic school standing tall since 1959. With 110 girls, 282 boys, and 55 teachers (including some amazing undergrad teachers from Federal University Oye-Ekiti), we created a safe, powerful space to talk openly about real-life topics that shape young lives.

From puberty, body image, self-esteem, and menstruation, to goal setting and the realities of risky sexual behaviours, we spent nearly 90 minutes diving deep and answering an incredible 57 anonymous questions; some bold, some surprising! Their curiosity keeps us inspired and shows why #ComprehensiveSexualityEducation matters.

Our dream is simple: empower every young person to be informed, valued, and ready to spark sustainable change in their community.
Which of these topics do you think needs more discussion in schools? Let us know below!👇

The belief that onions can’t be produced in the The belief that onions can’t be produced in the Southwest is changing, as we now have vegetable farmers producing onions successfully in the region. As an Innovation and Business Service Support Provider, it is part of our mandate at Onelife Initiative to bring innovation to our farmers. This feat in pictures was through the #HortiNigeria project in Oyo State. Join our various hubs to learn more.

To burst myths that exotic veggies like onions, carrots, bell peppers, cabbage and the likes cannot be grown here, we have successfully set up demonstration plots with our farmers after thorough training on the various GAP (Good Agronomic Practices) needed for the crop.
And YES!!!!!! We have good results and GREAT HARVEST….

The 2025 Men’s Summit by YouthHub Africa held in The 2025 Men’s Summit by YouthHub Africa held in Abuja, with live viewing centres set up in select states in Nigeria.

In Oyo State, we hosted the Oyo State Young Men’s Network Against Sexual and Gender Based Violence at our Ibadan office, where 26 young men gathered to actively listen, engage in real-time polls, and participate in Q&A sessions.

Thanks to the power of technology and the support from @youthhubafrica 's Media team, young men across Nigeria were able to seamlessly connect and contribute to the conversations.

We are glad to be part of the narrative that is empowering young men to be part of the solution and we’re already looking forward to Men’s Summit 2026!

Today in Uyo, we shared various innovations in veg Today in Uyo, we shared various innovations in vegetable production with young people. Our interest was to drive them into action in sync with the theme of this year’s International Youth Day.

Leveraging cucumber’s relatively easy production, and the rainfall patterns in Akwa Ibom State, we shared what was possible, inclusive of the various opportunities on the value chain. We can’t wait to see what some of them will be doing after now.

For today’s youth, opportunities abound and excuses are no longer easy to give. We rounded off with also sharing with them the various opportunities for loans and grants available for farmers.

@sterlingbank we were kind enough to also mention you in the room given how you have redefined the youth and women in the Agriculture space in Nigeria.

Happy International Youth Day!

It was a time of learning, relearning, and network It was a time of learning, relearning, and networking for smallholder farmers at our International Youth Day commemoration program.

This is the third year we have celebrated IYD with these hardworking farmers, and it was nothing short of edutaining.

There were gifts, laughter, and engaging discussions, but the highlight was the farmers’ keen interest in exploring how solar energy can be harnessed to power their farms sustainably.

We also partnered with @foodcong to share insights on breaking into premium markets, while making sure that opportunities in local markets were not overlooked. Farmers were eager to learn not just what to produce, but when to produce it for the best returns.

We are already envisioning International Youth Day 2026 and we’re excited to make an even greater impact for our farmers.

Yesterday, we launched Volume II of the State of G Yesterday, we launched Volume II of the State of Girl Child Education Report in Oyo State!

Held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, the event brought together stakeholders from the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, civil society actors, teachers, and students.

The report, supported by @MalalaFund, sheds light on trends in girl child education using NECO and WASSCE data celebrating gains in places like Saki East, while calling attention to challenges in underperforming LGAs such as Ibarapa North, Iwajowa, and Iseyin.

We also had exciting side events that got participants thinking about things from what state is known as the centre of learning to who the famous potter on the N20 bill is…this was a learning experience for everyone as gifts were won while fun was also had.

We’re delighted to see how this report will guide impactful interventions for girls across Oyo State and we are beginning to see the impact of our work so far and we are excited about this.

Scan the QR code in the last photo for a copy of the report for Oyo State and look out for the report from Akwa Ibom.

💔 "But Islam says I can beat her… right?" No. 💔 "But Islam says I can beat her… right?"
No. That’s not what the Qur’an teaches.

Too often, we hear this excuse used to justify violence at home.
But beating your wife or partner is not “discipline” — it is battery.
And it is a crime under the VAPP Law of Oyo State, punishable by:
🚫 3 years in prison or
🚫 ₦500,000 fine — or both.

🕊️ Now read what the Qur’an actually says:

"And of His signs is that He created for you mates from yourselves,
that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy…"
— Surah Ar-Rum 30:21

Marriage is meant to be a safe space, not a battleground.

📢 Let’s stop using religion to justify abuse.
Let’s reflect, correct, and protect.
