FEMALE RESEARCH ASSISTANT

The organisation is recruiting and seeks to employ a full-time female Research Assistant in its programmes department. Onelife Initiative for Human Development is a youth biased non-governmental organisation based in Ibadan, Oyo state. We work to improve the social development of young people around themes of Sexual Reproductive Health and Right amongst other issues.

ROLES

Review various human design research questions and activities to ensure they are locally appropriate, culturally acceptable, clear and easy to understand;
Engage in and document field data collection and study to improve quality of monitoring, evaluation and reporting;
Work with the programmes officer and other desk officers in the organisation to support in knowledge management, trainings, content production for external use in form of IEC materials;
Facilitate community fact-finding sessions, sensitisation session and feedback session;
Support translation of documents to local context;
Write quality project reports, distil qualitative and quantitative feedbacks and findings into slide decks,
Represent the organisations at meetings, sessions and workshops etc.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Should have at least a first degree with minimum of a year work experience reflecting some of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above;
Prior work experience in a Non- Governmental Organisation either full time or in a volunteer’s capacity is desired;
Must be resident in Ibadan, have networks and familiar with the geography of the city;
Must be between the age of 19 – 24 years;
Must have excellent communication skill — both written and verbal;
Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Products is a must;
Should be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Must be comfortable around adolescent girls from various backgrounds;
Ability to work in a team is also desired for this role;
Excellent field research skills and desk research ability is needed for this assignment.
