We cannot keep quiet today because its our Boss's We cannot keep quiet today because its our Boss's birthday, its not our birthday but we are more excited than the celebrant. You are the reason why we have a place to go to every weekday to contribute our quota to the development of young people in Nigeria.

You have led us positively to make an impact in our generation, therefore on behalf of over 5 million Nigerian youths reached directly and indirectly, we say HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr 'Sola Fagorusi

Yesterday, we spent time virtually together with s Yesterday, we spent time virtually together with some of our partners and stakeholders. This was a project dissemination for Campus Wey Sabi: Choices for Undergraduates. If you were not there, where were you? We attributed the success of our project to our team’s commitment, collaborative working with others and to the willingness to face challenges. We had time to prepare for and discuss key learnings, “outcomes” and obstacles of the project, feedbacks and success stories and finally ways to improve success in future work.

Why are we always so motivated? We are driven by the stories of young people who faced and overcame reproductive health and rights challenges. The same ones that you face as you enter reproductive health care, being able to access reproductive health information in a safe space without fear of being judged or discriminated against. Their stories motivate us to continue advocating for the reproductive rights of girls, women and even male adolescents.✌️

This is part of our Monday sessions. Each week we This is part of our Monday sessions. Each week we focus on a different topic and this week's topic is Temperaments. This meeting helped us to emphasize the importance of temperaments in day-to-day interactions with staff. The main takeaway is that by understanding an individual's temperament, you can more effectively manage them and bring out the best in them.

As a leader, it is important to tailor your management style to fit each person. Understanding and managing your staff's temperaments not only improves the quality of their job performance, but also lays the foundation for enduring relationships with your employees.

This week, we had a capacity building session wher This week, we had a capacity building session where our Front Desk Officer/Admin. Assistant took us through a session filled with tips and hacks on balancing work and life. Despite loving what we do, we only have 24 hours daily. It was a session questioning how we ensure that despite loving work, our staff all have a balanced life.

Questions followed, comments on delegation and how it is a lifestyle that helps in work/life balance was also addressed. Just like Wahala, work sef no dey finish!

On the organogram of Onelife Initiative, the board On the organogram of Onelife Initiative, the board of the organisation is the supreme leadership making decision. The board is responsible for steering the institution along its vision and mission line. Our first board meeting for this year held recently to reflect, evaluate performances and also put strategises in place for the future.

The board drew attention to a number of issues that the organisation needs to reflect on. We are grateful for their interest in the organisation’s work and attention to deserving details. Later this year, we hope to expand the board to accommodate 3 females who are interested in our vision and address three things — the gender tilt, ensure a pan-Nigerian disposition while bringing in a new blend of professionals in healthcare, law and business.

Got recommendations for us?😉 We are a few clicks or phone taps away.

Today is the day to remember all those who fought Today is the day to remember all those who fought for a better world sometime in Soweto. We know that the Young Africans who died fighting for their rights are not forgotten, and we won’t let them be. Their lives matter—and we need to keep remembering them until they can live in a world where they can fully enjoy the full potential of their being.

The African child deserves quality education, security, the female child is especially vulnerable and deserves to live a life free of FGM, Gender based violence, forceful child marriage…and a right to life. Here are three things you can do today —

1. Learn about the issues plaguing the African child
2. Volunteer in a local school close to you or anywhere where young Africans gather regularly
3. Talk to young people about the dangers of FGM and other gender based violence.

Do You Know? 🤮 That there are more germs on you Do You Know?
🤮 That there are more germs on your phone, keyboard than on a toilet seat?
🤲 That the number of germs on your fingertips doubles after using the toilet:
💩 And 1 out of 3 of your colleagues do not wash their hands after using the toilet

How do you tell a colleague at work that he or she has a bad breathe — that the dragon has a duplex in his/her mouth? How do you tell your office mate that you have a body odour?

Our Monday session today dwelt on Personal Workplace Hygiene. Water or Tissue for Item 2? Which do you go for? Anti-perspirant or deodorant? It was all shades of opinions and interpretations. Onelife Initiative will be capturing some highlights from the session to improve our internal policies.

Do you have answers to the questions above? Share with us. Tell us how you deal with these issues.

We love the idea of free education. Free with a Q. We love the idea of free education. Free with a Q. Free that carries Quality with it. Free that starts with the letter S! Free that is Safe. A situation where the school is free and the education here is good enough to get one started in life. But when we look at the state of girl’s education in Nigeria, we see that it’s not just about free schools and good teachers. There are lots of hidden issues that deserve to be uncovered so we can address them and make progress. And if you’re a girl? You often have to pay more than boys do for so many reasons….

We need more than just data on how bad things are in Nigeria’s schools—we need people who are willing to take action on these issues. We also need to tell stories about the wins government and other actors are scoring. We’ve teamed up with 19 journalists and trained them in investigative reporting on issues around the state of girls education in #Oyo and #AkwaIbom. Now they’re reporting on stories that can spur changes in policies that govern education—especially as it concerns girl child education. Watch this space.

We are gradually bringing our Scaling Up SRHR and We are gradually bringing our Scaling Up SRHR and Campus Wey Sabi project to a close. It’s been months of genuine impact. With our Research Assistants and Volunteers, we discussed the various approaches that needs to be used in the community while also providing community based resources for them to carry out the assignment.

We can’t wait to measure the outputs and outcomes from the several weeks of holding cohort sessions in the 4 local government areas of the project. What has changed in the communities? How well did the information spread? Did the girls and women who were major beneficiaries change behaviour and to what degree?

Thank you Precious for the lovely session this mor Thank you Precious for the lovely session this morning during our weekly staff meeting. The session on Building Personal Brand on Instagram and LinkedIn helped to further highlighting opportunities that young people on our team can take advantage of for their personal growth.

Her first question was — When was the last time you posted on #LinkedIn or #Instagram? Interesting varieties of answers in the room. Thanks to Precious, you will find us on #Instagram and #LinkedIn more.

Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day to celebrate Today is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a day to celebrate the normalcy of menstruation, and to spread awareness about how important it is for women and girls to feel comfortable while they're on their periods.

We all know that menstruation is a normal process of shedding the uterine lining just like our hair or skin sheds, but many people still have myths and misconceptions about it. Some people think that menstruation is dirty or taboo. This leads them to exclude and discriminate against women and girls who are menstruating.

When girls miss school during their periods, they don’t just miss a day of learning—they lose out on valuable time with their friends, teachers, and other mentors who can help them achieve their full potential. So it is imperative for us to ensure that girls have access to menstrual hygiene supplies so that they can stay in school during their periods without any fear or embarrassment.

Happy Children's Day! Today we celebrate the role Happy Children's Day!

Today we celebrate the role of children in society and their importance to the future of our country. Children are our greatest asset, and the tools and resources needed for them to achieve a brighter future lies in our hands.

This is why we celebrate the 27th of May every year and it is up to us as adults to give them the tools and resources they need to achieve a brighter future.

Children need love, care and attention to help them grow into educated, responsible citizens of the society. They should be given every opportunity to become leaders of tomorrow.

Every May 25th is African Day, if you are African Every May 25th is African Day, if you are African or of African descent remember to raise your shoulder high today because it's our day.

We need more Africans to tell great stories about Africa such as the development happening, our beautiful cultural diversity such as Zulu of South Africa, Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania, our beautiful tourist centres such as Olumo Rock, Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Natron, our food and so more. Let the world know that great things are happening in Africa and they are always welcome to visit.

As an Organisation we are saying happy African day

Our in-house session this week was a step down tra Our in-house session this week was a step down training on child protection and safeguarding following the training by @cpnoyostate This is a conversation we can never exhaust because as an organisation, we want to make sure that all our process and procedures are in line with best safeguarding practices and our projects do no harm to the children we work with.

One of the new information we will be taking out of here is the difference between the terminologies we use interchangeably for example the difference between child protection and child safeguarding, the difference between rape and defilement and many more. In all, we strive to be better, to do better, to programme better.… It’s our collective responsibility to protect every child; especially the teenagers we regularly reach out to.
