The conversation about gender justice does NOT need more men, it needs ALL men in the room.

On 13th August 2026, our Executive Director will be moderating sessions at the Men's Summit on Ending Child Marriage in Abuja anchored by @youthhubafrica; a space designed specifically for men who are ready to move beyond awareness into action.

Because issues of child marriage and building gender-just communities is not a women's issue waiting for women to fix. It is a human issue and men who are decision makers are a critical part of the solution.

Meet Precious!

When Precious joined Onelife Initiative as a volunteer, just like many other volunteers. She started on our Agribusiness desk, got her hands into real programme work, and kept going from there, moving across desks, picking up different skills. Was it tough at some point yea!!😭

Today she is headed to the next chapter; her one-year mandatory NYSC deployment.
And she is going in sharper, more confident, and more prepared than most young people.

Happening Now.
Healthcare providers in Ekiti State are actively transforming how we protect women’s health. We are training #Doctors, #Nurses, and #Pharmacists to operationalize the new SToP Guidelines, in close collaboration with the Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Human Resources.

It is inspiring to witness rapid shifts in social norms and values surrounding critical healthcare delivery. By equipping providers with a full spectrum of care; from preventive education to safe management options, we are actively dismantling the barriers that cause maternal mortality. As this cohort wraps up this #Friday, these trained professionals are ready to hit the ground running; saving lives, preventing injuries, and securing a safer future for our #women and #girls.

For us, success may be the unseen moment when a young woman chooses to abstain or use a contraceptive method to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. These are outcomes we cannot always measure because they happen in private and usually go unreported.

What we can do is ensure that women and girls of reproductive age have access to accurate, evidence-based information through our peer-to-peer sessions on our GAC project and are also empowered to use that knowledge when faced with real life decisions. If they are able to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health, then we can gladly say we have achieved something meaningful, even if we cannot always quantify it. That to us is success.

Some of the best lessons don't happen in a classroom.

Every week, our interns and volunteers take on a presentation during our team meeting. It's one of the ways we help them build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and learn to think on their feet.

Today, we had two presentations from our volunteers that led to new learnings for them. Was there a bit of nervousness? maybe a lot of nervousness even. But with each presentation, they get better at it and become more confident speakers.

The better they get at it, the quicker they can take on presentations on the field. 🧡

It is still Girls and Women O’Clock in Ekiti State. We’re keeping the momentum going by checking in with our Community Champions on the frontlines. Our team recently visited active, trained Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) to listen, learn, and improve how basic community reproductive health services reach adolescent girls.

The verdict? We are making strides, but there is always room to do more. With the incredible support of the @ipasnigeria Health Foundation, we delivered essential commodities to our PPMV partners to boost their service delivery. Appreciations to the Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Human Services for consistently backing our efforts to leave no one behind in healthcare.

The best solutions begin by listening. Quality Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services are built around the needs of people and communities. Together with our partners at @ipasnigeria Health Foundation, we visited selected Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) in Ido and Oyo West Local Government Areas of Oyo State to hear their experiences, challenges, and recommendations.

These valuable conversations will help strengthen our Bodily Autonomy project so it better responds to the realities in our communities. A big thank you to the dedicated PHC workers and PPMVs whose commitment to providing quality healthcare continues to make a difference every day. Your insights and service are helping shape better health outcomes for women and girls. Because when communities are heard, everyone wins.

On this day in 1976, children in Soweto took to the streets to demand their right to learn in their own language. Many of them never came home.

50 years after Soweto, we are still fighting for the African child.

Not just for access to education, but for the basic conditions that make education possible.

A girl should not have to miss school because there is no safe toilet. A child should not have to drink unsafe water. Dignity, health, and education should never be luxuries.

This year's Day of the African Child theme reminds us that safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) are not optional, they are essential to facilitate better learning outcomes.

At Onelife Initiative, we have seen how something as simple as access to clean water and a dignified toilet can impact a child's future, especially for girls.

Every African child deserves to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and healthy environment.

Today is Democracy Day in Nigeria.

It’s a hard to celebrate when families in Ogbomoso are still waiting for their children and teachers to come home. Democracy shouldn’t just be about flying green and whiter flag, "Fellow Nigerians" speeches, and public holidays. It should mean every child can get to school and come back safe. Every teacher can teach without fear of being taken away while impacting knowledge to our future leaders.

So we remember. We remember the ones missing. We remember what democracy is supposed to be: government of the people, for the people, that protects the people. Nigerians!!

May want a Nigeria where no parent has to wonder if their child will return home. Where freedom isn’t just a word we say on June 12.

Praying for Ogbomoso. Praying for Nigeria.

We have been asking for safe schools from governme

We have been asking for safe schools from government since the Chibok Girls incidence. The promises have been made on paper yet many of our public schools remain without fences. It has been 13 days since our children were abducted. Schools are no longer safe. We are asking and pleading that our government do what they have promised on the international stage. If we want children educated, then we must protect them while they learn.

This is not a Happy Children's Day for all.

We want our children back safe.
We want their teachers back.
Our Government must do better.
It can't be business as usual.
