Call for Expression of Interest: Terms of Reference for Radio and Stage Drama Script on Reproductive Rights issues in Nigeria

Onelife Initiative for Human Development is seeking to engage the service of a consultant to develop radio and stage drama script on Reproductive Rights issues in Nigeria. This is part of our work towards accelerating the abandonment of unsafe and unhealthy reproductive and sexual rights issues among adolescents and young women in Nigeria. Onelife Initiative is a youth biased non-governmental organisation working to unlock opportunities for the retinue of young people in Nigeria.

Project Overview

The project is part of efforts towards providing information and reducing various stigmatisations attached to adolescent girls and young women accessing their reproductive rights in a very restrictive space in Nigeria. Through the radio drama to be served both in English (laced with the pidgin version) and Yoruba Language, we are hoping to stir conversations around the various dimensions of reproductive rights, highlight the various alternatives that people have hitherto pursued leading to loss of lives and causing life-threatening injuries. The overall interest is to reduce these incidences as it concerns the target population of the project. In addition, the radio drama will be adapted into a stage drama script and this will be staged in various communities in Oyo State in Yoruba and English Language.

Audience

The key audience for this radio drama are young people of various social strata. Adults are also being targeted as secondary audience given the role they play in the decision making processes of young people who they serve as either parents or guardians to. Young adults who are also influencers to adolescent girls are also the target. We expect that the radio drama which will be aired on major radio stations in Oyo State, Nigeria inspires adolescents and young women to seek information from the right sources and also take charge of their reproductive rights live.

Requested Documentation

We encourage organisations and individuals with experience around this to apply. To apply, send in CV and or profile of the organisation, an expression of interest note with a synopsis that clearly shows an understanding of the subject matter and then an invoice for payment. Previous experience handling similar projects is a must and such should reflect on the expression of interest note.

Payment
The consultant or firm will be paid the negotiated amount. Onelife Initiative for Human Development will however deduct the obligatory 5% withholding tax on the payment for remittance to the appropriate tax authority.

Reporting Channel and Expression of Interest
The successful consultant will sign a contract showing timelines with Onelife Initiative for Human Development and will report directly to the Executive Director of the organisation.
