Beyond this, they also discussed solutions. Issues of extracurricular activities, over populated classes in some schools, government provision of intervention classes and much more were discussed.
A key ask by one of the students on the panel is that the quality of prizes for students during competitions need to be ‘substantial’ with scholarship being an option for consideration. Another student was also keen about the need to shift the focus from just academic opportunities for students to also allowing others without core academic competence also discover themselves and exhibit their talent.
Parents were also called out on the role they need to play. We are excited about the discussion the documentary screening in partnership with @youthhubafrica and @malalafund triggered.

Today we celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of women around the world. With this year’s theme being DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality, we set out to empower 10 women with skills and technical know-how to improve and grow their customer base using apps that are freely available to them.
We are excited to see that a few of the women who participated in the customised training have begun to use these skills in their businesses. We look forward to more results and success stories from them. Did we mention we also gifted them quality pictures we took of them in their shops.

This year has taken a more holistic approach in ta This year has taken a more holistic approach in tackling FGM by including men and boys in campaigns.
We have always included men and boys in the past in our campaign to end FGM as an organisation, however, this year's global commemoration of International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM has recognised, through sustainable partnership, the role of men and boys in ending female genital mutilation - so that no girl suffers from female genital mutilation or any other form of violence.
We have employed several approaches in pushing our campaigns including radio as last mile reach, use of survivor stories, video documentaries, survivor networks, poster art competitions, and many other strategies to foster conversations among adults and young people. In a few years, we hope to see this practice to an end just like other harmful traditional practices in Africa.

Happy International Day of Education! Today, we c Happy International Day of Education!
Today, we celebrate the importance of education for all children. But it's easy to forget that 20 million children in Nigeria are out of school—most of them girls.
On this day, we ask our political aspirants to take a moment to reflect on what our future in Nigeria will look like if every child...every girl has access to an education.

We had some interesting feedbacks from our state-l We had some interesting feedbacks from our state-level participants as they went about their campaign on the movement for good to end Female Genital Mutilation. We came to the realisation that there was a clear divide between generations where the younger generation we eager to end the practice while the older generations are divided between some who are indifferent about the practice ending and those who still hold the opinion that the practice should continue because it is our culture.
Our campaign to end female genital mutilation is still on, though it may take a different dimension, however the goal still remains how to put an end to the practice of female circumcision.
